What We're Looking For

This individual, reporting to the Manager, Program Development will manage the tools, resources and processes required to effectively analyze new market opportunities, assist with recommended curricular timelines and design, and partner across the Program Management and larger Marketing organization to optimize existing programs.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

  • Support the development of new program and offering opportunities and product enhancements of existing programs:
    • Become an expert on the existing on campus programs that are being considered as new program opportunities
    • Systematically capture all relevant information necessary to take an existing on campus program online – includes existing admission requirements, details on existing curriculum, accreditation and licensure requirements, rankings, competitors, and any additional relevant information
    • Work directly with the Program Research team to facilitate data and relevant research into the program development process so that programs are optimally designed
    • Produce and own the tools and documents used to build and track each new program opportunity and product enhancement
    • Support the production of program financial models – must be able to understand how the 2U financial model works
    • Work with the Academic Engagement team to produce curricular proposals based on the optimal product design determined
    • Work directly with brand marketing, program management, CIS to build product enhancement proposals for underperforming programs 
  • Help systematize how Product Marketing assess compliance challenges that will be faced when launching new opportunities and making product enhancements:
    • Own and manage working relationship with 2U’s compliance team 
    • Ensure relevant information regarding new products and product enhancements is communicated to Compliance and all compliance related considerations are accounted for as programs are being developed
    • Build tools to efficiently and effectively measure the degree of difficulty the amount of time needed to bring a program to market 
  • Provide analysis and support to define and communicate the market position of a particular degree within the context of the overall product strategy:
    • Build and own the “New Program Brief”, which aggregates and documents all relevant information from initial sales conversations up to contract, including all relevant market research and any financial model inputs
    • Support and help produce the go to market strategy for new program opportunities
    • Conduct relevant macro market research so that program management teams have the information necessary to launch and effectively run new programs
  • Standardize product offerings to maximize revenue, while ensuring that resources and costs are efficiently allocated within the structure of a program:
    • Provide supporting research and analysis to help develop optimal program models for both existing and new programs
    • Help build product playbooks for each program degree type
  • Identify new revenue opportunities based on performance of existing portfolio of programs:
    • Work directly with Program Research, Program Management and relevant marketing teams to identify product gaps within existing offerings
  • Other responsibilities include:
    • Update and maintain the New Programs confluence site to ensure that key functional heads have access to all up to date developments on the New Program pipeline
    • Documenting meeting outcomes and managing product build database
    • Directly interface with key internal stakeholders to ensure that deadlines are met and that project updates and developments are clearly communicated
    • Support program management and implementation teams in getting a new program to their launch date when needed

  • Significant familiarity with Microsoft Office suite and google tools
  • Ability to learn new software and quickly adapt and improve upon both products and processes. Examples include Tableau and Burning Glass
  • Management of complex projects against definitive and extremely aggressive timelines
  • Leadership and management in the absence of direct line authority
  • Managing in complex and fluid environments
  • Significant attention to detail
