What We're Looking For

We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join and help grow our top notch Payroll Team. The ideal candidate should have Workday Payroll experience, be a proactive self-starter with a proven ability to work independently and efficiently, and must be able to balance delivering exceptional performance in a fun, energetic and entrepreneurial environment. Workday Payroll experience is essential.

 

The Payroll Specialist processes the exempt and non-exempt semi-monthly pay for the 2U Organization. This position conducts analysis, audits, and reconciliations to process and resolve complex payroll processing and employee payroll issues ensuring an accurate and timely semi-monthly payroll. Provide White Glove customer services to 2U employees.

 

The Payroll Specialist, will report to the Director of Payroll.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

  • Prepare, input, and produce accurate and timely payroll on a semi-monthly basis using Workday Payroll 
  • Analyze pre- and post-payroll audit reports to identify and correct payroll errors
  • Analyze and resolve data discrepancies between the Workday HCM, Benefits, Time and Leave, 3rd Party Vendors, and Payroll 
  • When applicable, process off-cycle payments as requested by Human Resource Business Partners or Management 
  • Process Off Cycle manual adjustments for Stock income wage reporting and taxes 
  • Serve as 401k Administrator to ensure accurate funding of employee retirement accounts 
  • Process wage garnishments in Workday Payroll 
  • Partner effectively with HR, IT, Finance and other functions to ensure appropriate flow of data and reporting
  • Create and maintain department Work Instructions
  • Research and analyze pay data, pay discrepancies, and other payroll issues to identify root cause
  • Answer and provide accurate problem resolution to employees via email, telephone, and written correspondence
  • Maintain payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures
  • Comply with all Internal Control Standard SOX requirements in terms of supporting documentation and accuracy

Things That Should Be in Your Background

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 3-5 years of corporate payroll experience required
  • General understanding of laws affecting payroll and benefits 
  • Proficiency working with payroll and Workday Payroll, MS Word and MS Excel required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Previous experience within a customer service role 
  • Strong Google Application experience a plus
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects under deadlines a must
  • Able to work independently and as a team player 
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills 
  • Vendor management with insurance carriers a plus
