What We're Looking For

The Faculty Training & Development Team empowers faculty from 2U partner universities to create an engaging digital learning environment that delivers transformative student outcomes.  The Manager is responsible for developing and executing a growth plan for the team. You’ll work with trainers on the team to increase positive faculty outcomes and operational efficiency. You’ll be extremely comfortable managing a geographically dispersed team. You’re solution-oriented, regularly challenging the status quo, while expeditiously seeing all faculty training and development concerns through to resolution.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

• Support and contribute to strategic programs and solutions, anticipating and alerting management, teams, stakeholders, and partners to trends.

• Recommend and manage new team initiatives and ideas to help improve the team and its performance.

• Use metrics and analytics to build business cases, provide insight and counsel regarding the faculty experience and how it can be improved.

• Work in collaboration with the team to support overall training operations by building internal and external relationships, and serving as a link between our internal service teams and university partners.

• Foster respect and collaboration within the team and/or university partners. Identify issues within the (internal/external) team and drive to resolution.

• Demonstrate strong quantitative and analytical abilities to define measurable objectives, assess metrics, and reports.

• Implement and improve high quality faculty training and development programs. Work with stakeholders to enhance faculty training quality and efficiency as necessary.

• Represent the team to internal stakeholders and keep them apprised of team progress/opportunities.

• Manage direct reports, including hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and developing team members for professional growth and to meet/exceed team goals and metrics.

• Tie team activities to team vision, goals, and outcomes.

• Hold team accountable to team metrics.

• Ensure effective communication, training, and adoption of 2U technology products.

• Communicate clear, progressive direction for the team.

Things That Should Be in Your Background

• Bachelor’s degree required

• Minimum 5 years experience in teaching, training, customer support, or related field (experience providing service in a collegiate, university or online environment a strong plus)

• At least 2 years of management experience.

• Strong background in Education and/or Training

• Familiarity with online learning technology

• Experience developing e-learnings or asynchronous training materials

• Advanced computer skills (Current Microsoft & Apple OS, Microsoft Office, Chrome, Firefox, Safari, IE, Google Applications)

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate in a courteous, tactful, and concise manner

• Organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and a high sense of urgency

• Ability to work quickly and accurately; able to multitask in high-intensity situations

• Managing/Leading high performance and fast-paced team(s)

Other Attributes That Will Help You in This Role

• Excellent communication skills, especially via phone in the establishment of relationships with faculty members in other locations

• Patience working with those not as tech savvy

• Enthusiasm and the ability to thrive in an atmosphere of constant change

• Familiarity with online learning technology

• Experience with Adobe Captivate or Articulate

• Strong customer service focus; commitment to faculty and student satisfaction and success

• Enthusiasm and the ability to thrive in an atmosphere of constant change

• Ability to work and contribute in a team environment
