What We're Looking For

2U develops and manages digital courses for graduate degree programs for the most respected institutions in higher education. The Senior Director for Course Iteration is responsible for the management and quality of all active 2U courses across our dynamic and growing portfolio of university partners. This role requires strong analytics, an excitement for educational technology, leadership skills, and superior customer interaction. The Senior Director ensures that all 2U courses are aligned to current course syllabi and assessment standards, correct to faculty expectations, and conform to best-practices for 2U course design and delivery. The Senior Director manages a distributed team through a continuous cycle of faculty course change requests, program updates and related course maintenance. The team must maintain high customer satisfaction, combined with process efficiency, superior quality, and delivery to schedule expectation. Effective collaboration with colleagues and partners is essential.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

  • Overall management of a growing team in a business environment of rapid evolution and growth. 
  • Maintain a close collaboration with 2U Program Operations and other course development teams to ensure effective support of educational outcomes, program success and 2U business objectives.
  • Lead team in proactive engagement and ongoing communications with partner faculty to collect course iteration requirements and scheduling for each program term.
  • Develop reliable, repeatable and auditable processes that are both efficient and scalable for future growth.
  • Application of best-practices for QC/QA appropriate to 2U products and workflow, and designed to the needs of public universities.
  • Develop and maintain performance metrics and reporting to measure service utilization, faculty satisfaction, and leading indicators of future service demand.
  • Maintain close collaboration with other 2U teams engaged with partner faculty and program leadership: Course Production, Program Operations, Post-enrollment Services, and Faculty Support, to provide a seamless customer experience.
  • Contribute expertise and peer leadership to cross-functional teams for technology, planning and process improvement across 2U.    
  • Initiate and lead cross-functional efforts to identify, diagnose and resolve critical issues and significant risks in any area of position responsibility.   

Things That Should Be in Your Background

  • 5 to 7 years of related experience in a high-volume technology or customer support organization serving multiple high-value customers.     
  • Demonstrated measurable success in multiple areas of position responsibilities.  
  • Prior management of teams that utilize web technology (HTML/ HTML 5), databases, workflow automation tools and customer support ticketing systems.
  • Mastery of detailed analytical problem-solving and rapid development of sustainable solutions.
  • Effective deployment of metrics and analytics to improve individual and team performance, with attention to improving customer relationships and satisfaction.
  • Experience with online education or training (higher education experience is preferred).
  • Customer-facing presentation skills and the ability to convey complex technical information in a clear and easy to understand manner.
