What We're Looking For

2U is seeking an experienced senior staff-level analyst to support the business process and internal controls function for a rapidly growing public Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) technology company.  This position will be responsible for assisting in the development, management and execution of process analysis, control improvement, compliance and internal audit projects.  You will be part of a team that expects you to not just participate but also take full ownership of project efforts, working directly with all levels of company management to understand and provide real-world recommendations for improvement.  Our goal is help the company find the right solutions to process and controls issues.

 

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

The selected individual will work independently, with members of the 2U Internal Audit team and in a matrixed project approach, as needed, to ensure work is completed on-time and within budget.   Other duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Conducting financial, technology, operational and other reviews or special projects requested by management or the Audit Committee 
  • Assessing the design and configuration of controls for new and existing systems and/or processes
  • Performing audits of internal control over financial reporting for management assessment under SOX 404
  • Coordinating with and assisting the external auditors in performing SOX, year-end audit and any agreed upon procedures
  • Assisting in conducting business and fraud risk assessments, the development of the annual audit plan and input to Audit Committee presentations
  • Developing internal audit procedures, tools, schedules, priorities and programs for achieving audit objectives and goals

Things That Should Be in Your Background

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics preferred
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of auditing experience with a public accounting firm, preferably regional or “Big 4” 
  • CPA, CIA and/or CISA preferred
  • Solid understanding of and exposure to IT general controls, IT governance principles (COBIT), data center and cloud-based service operations and software applications
  • Demonstrated background of general audit methodology and documentation requirements
  • Experience with SOX 404 documentation management and testing compliance

  • Ability to work in a team setting as well as independently and under tight deadlines
  • Must be professional in their interaction with internal and external stakeholders
  • Willingness to learn and offer up ideas on how to improve company and team operations
  • Ability to effectively manage work load as well as excellent time management skills
  • Ability to build relationships with staff and management at all levels
  • Familiarity with an audit management system (ex.: TeamMate, MetricStream, WDesk) a plus
  • Experience with WorkDay a plus
