What We're Looking For

The Marketing Compliance Specialist is responsible for enforcing the application of 2U marketing content standards
to a broad range of marketing materials.


The primary focus of the position is the review and approval of 2U marketing content, to ensure alignment with 2U
standards and best practices. This individual is a member of the Compliance team and acts as the key Compliance
stakeholder in guiding the creation of marketing content. The role functions in a semi-embedded manner, working
cooperatively and in deep partnership with the marketing and creative teams to ensure transparency, accuracy and
accountability in marketing content.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

  • Ensure adherence to marketing content standards across various categories of content including:
    • o Program websites
    • o Email marketing content
    • o Demand gen portal properties, and
    • o Inbound media
  • Review, comment, and provide guidance on marketing asset tickets to support compliance requirements while helping marketing achieve their objectives.
  • Act as first level compliance reviewer and approver for marketing assets. As required, identify and escalate sensitive content to relevant Legal and Compliance stakeholders for additional review.
  • Work cooperatively with the creative and brand teams to ensure that university partner style guide requirements are appropriately reconciled with 2U marketing content standards.
  • Provide feedback to marketing leadership on compliance concerns.
  • Apprise compliance leadership on issues and trends in marketing content.
  • Identify areas where standards and / or training require development or change to meet evolving regulatory
  • needs or evolution of the business.

Things That Should Be in Your Background

  • Bachelor's degree with relevant coursework (journalism, communications, English, marketing)
  • At least two years of experience working in a high-volume throughput and/or deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines while prioritizing and managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience developing and sustaining collaborative cross-functional relationships in a business or educational institution
