What We're Looking For

We are seeking a Temporary Producer to assist the Course Development Manager with the production of online courses at Simmons College, Boston. The freelance Associate Producer plays a key role in the mission to deliver a series of content-rich academic videos, while ensuring an excellent faculty experience.

The Associate Producer will be scheduled on a day-rate basis. 2-3 days per week on average are anticipated.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

  • Scheduling and confirming studio bookings for faculty and crew 
  • Providing information and preparing faculty for their studio experience
  • Assisting with in-studio rehearsals
  • Reviewing faculty materials prior to each filming session
  • Organizing and managing digital assets 
  • Maintaining an accurate video production log during filming (i.e. timecode, edit notes)
  • Tracking content during filming to confirm all content is captured according to course plan 
  • Hosting faculty in studio to ensure they are comfortable on camera, that their requests/needs are catered to and that they have a positive overall experience
  • Taking care of food and drink orders for faculty/crew
  • Assisting on set with powder/hairspray/wardrobe needs 
  • Administering electronic releases 
  • General studio office assistance

Things That Should Be in Your Background

  • 2+ years of professional video production experience
  • Familiarity with technology; use of Google Docs, Microsoft Office, and general web-savvy
  • Successful experience working with high-profile clients
  • Excellent organizational skills, with a keen eye and ear for detail 
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate in a courteous, tactful, and concise manner
  • Self-motivated with strong initiative, maturity, self-assurance and professionalism 
  • Skilled at establishing genuine relationships in a short time
  • A team player with a positive attitude and willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done
