What We're Looking For

2U is looking for a highly motivated and dynamic individual to help tell the story of 2U to investors and security analysts in order to achieve a fair relative stock price.

The role will report directly to the Vice President, Investor Relations, and will be responsible for developing and executing the global investor relations program in collaboration with the VP, IR. In order to accomplish this, the Director, Investor Relations must possess exceptional business acumen, interpersonal skills, and the flexibility to adapt to changing environments and priorities.   

This role requires a non-traditional schedule that will require some nights or weekend work dependent on deadlines and the need to travel (though not 24/7 or on-call, it is not a 9 - 5 role).


Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

  • Articulate the company’s strategy, financial results, growth opportunities, and business initiatives to current and potential shareholders and analysts.
  • Communicate directly with investors and equity research analysts through phone calls, emails, and meetings.
  • Establish, cultivate and retain a strong, ethical and honest relationship with the investment community.
  • Collaborate with a diverse set of internal stakeholders, including the finance, legal, and communications teams, to develop investor communications ranging from quarterly earnings documents, presentations, press releases, annual reports, and the 2U investor website. 
  • Support and advise the VP, Investor Relations and 2U Senior Leadership Team during investor meetings, quarterly calls and other initiatives. 

Things That Should Be in Your Background

  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience in roles in finance, business, operations or communications
  • BS/BA degree, MBA (or desire to pursue MBA) preferred
  • Strong communicator, you will need to respond in the moment, providing the correct and appropriate responses 
  • Ability to discretely and professionally handle confidential and sensitive information
  • Professional maturity and the ability to create and sustain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Other Attributes That Will Help You in This Role

  • Understanding of business needs and a non conventional schedule (to include nights and weekends occasionally are to be expected especially at quarter/earnings/investor event deadlines). This includes domestic business travel including travel to company offices (Denver, NYC, Los Angeles), investor events and the annual 2U company meeting.   
  • Impeccable written and oral communication skills
  • Poised demeanor when dealing with other executives, academic leaders and board members
  • Flexible and able to multitask, switch priorities regularly within a collaborative environment 
  • Being a life-long learner.  Knowing you can learn something new everyday and being excited by that thought! Ability to work with a diverse team in a fast-paced environment
  • Enthusiasm and the ability to thrive in an atmosphere of constant change
  • Passion for changing the landscape of higher education
