What We're Looking For

2U is changing the way great students and great universities think about digital education.  In order to do this, 2U has a dedicated TechDev office in New York City which produces all of the cloud-based services our university clients use. The Product Manager will support an agile software development team focused on our Campus Content Systems used by the 2U Content team as well as university faculty. Within the cross-functional team, this position will have a direct impact in all aspects of the product development lifecycle from research and design through release and ongoing feedback. This is an opportunity to help shape how curriculum is produced by faculty and delivered to graduate students in the learning experience, ultimately improving outcomes.

In addition to the  Campus Content team, this individual will work closely with other Learning Systems focused product teams, as well as across roles in user experience, engineering, and product management. They will  own relationships with stakeholders on the 2U Content team and other 2U Departments. As a member of the product management organization they will be responsible for the area’s roadmap, prioritization of initiatives, steady state maintenance and contributing to the larger vision of the content product suite. This person will serve the critical role of being a business expert who will leverage their understanding of the faculty course design experience, as well as 2U Content Team’s supporting processes, in order to contribute to the the future of 2U’s Campus Content systems.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

  • Set development priorities, define and implement a product roadmap through initial launch and subsequent, iterative releases
  • Guiding aspects of the product throughout the full software development lifecycle in an Agile environment
  • Facilitate and own a continuous feedback loop across the product lifecycle by consolidating input from business stakeholders and users
  • Working with product and engineering teams to drive superior outcomes with well articulated reasoning to stakeholders 
  • Conduct market and competitive product research to inform roadmap and internal knowledge sharing
  • Evaluate the ROI of partnership and development alternatives - build vs buy
  • Engage the user experience and research team to co-create quantitative and qualitative user research tactics that will be used to collect needs, insights, and validation in order to drive product decisions and planning
  • Serving as a TechDev liaison with the 2U Content team around campus content systems initiatives

Things That Should Be in Your Background

  • 4-7 years experience directly managing products and working with engineers, designers, and/or product managers
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Candidates who possess both higher education/higher education technology and product management backgrounds are highly encouraged to apply
  • Flexibility and ability to multitask, switch priorities as needed within a collaborative environment
  • Ability to travel as needed, up to 25%
