The Director, Business Process & Systems will report directly to the Chief Accounting Officer and be primarily responsible for business processes related to accounting and maintaining all aspects of 2U’s financial ERP applications, ensuring performance of control activities, designing reporting/analytics to support data-driven financial decisions, interacting with external auditors, and driving efficient financial business processes through technology.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

  • Lead all day-to-day usage of financial ERP applications, including maintenance of configurations and key system integrations
  • Enable efficient financial business processes through technology by ensuring that system configurations are fit-for-purpose, scalable, and that required data and workflows are accessible
  • Participate in data gathering, analysis, and testing of new features, modules
  • Facilitate and lead the relationship between business users of financial systems and the TechDev team in how solutioning is shared between the two
  • Design, build, and deliver requested and ad-hoc reporting, analytics, and dashboards using industry-leading reporting tools to drive company financial decisions, executive/management reporting, and SEC reporting
  • Serve as a data steward for all 2U financial data, playing a key role to ensure data integrity and support leading-practice data governance
  • Support and enforce company policies and control activities related to all technology used for financial reporting
  • Interact with external auditors to support the Company’s system-based control activities and SOX testing evidence
  • Educate the accounting team and other departments with respect to usage, policy, and best practices within 2U’s financial ERP applications
  • Be responsible for special projects and other departmental duties as necessary

Things That Should Be in Your Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or technical field required
  • Experience in business process improvement and implementation
  • Experience managing financial ERP packages
  • Experience using and administering financial reporting and planning tools
  • 12+ years of ERP application as an analyst, manager, or consultant, ideally with at least 1 year of experience working with Workday Financials
  • 4 - 6 years managing staff and senior staff level employees in financial systems capacity
  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Computer skills and experience using all MS Office applications as well as Google Apps
  • Strong knowledge of Excel required, and VBA experience also helpful
