What We're Looking For

This individual is responsible for developing and communicating the appropriate academic strategy to both internal and external stakeholders, and for gaining faculty and administrative buy-in on potential new programs. Reporting to the VP Academic Engagement, this team member will develop and manage the tools, resources and processes required to effectively model optimized curricular design and communicate 2U’s faculty engagement strategy.

 

The Director of Academic Engagement must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

  • Serve as a conduit between Academic Engagement, and the 2U Matrix, to include but not limited to finance, marketing, compliance, post enrollment support, content, admissions
  • Research all curricular aspects of pipeline conversations including but not limited to accreditation, university approvals, as well as comparative programs
  • Research market differentiators in specific disciplines within existing 2U partner universities’ conversations and provide input to the design aspects of proposed programs or offerings
  • Manage documentation of all significant prospective program decisions including but not limited to structural and regulatory critical pathways
  • Build the capacity of 2U functions to support design work of the “ideal” new program
  • Work with Marketing on evaluating product positioning and competitive analysis
  • Assist with “Staging Implementation” both pre and post contract along with appropriate summary handoff meetings
  • Represent 2U in university partner-facing academic strategy and faculty discussions to build capacity within the Strategic Partnerships team

Things That Should Be in Your Background

  • A clear understanding of the higher education landscape including curricular structure and approval processes
  • Demonstrated experience navigating the political considerations of designing complex online programs in the higher education sector
  • Management of complex projects against definitive and extremely aggressive timelines
  • Leadership and management in the absence of direct line authority
  • Managing in complex and fluid environments
  • Demonstrable excellence with communication and presentation skills
